FOOTBALL

Multi Activity

By Koki Kikuchi

Most of you have known about football, Football was born in England’s public school in 18 century.
In England, Radley College, we moved violently on the ground. It was first time for me to play British football. But, there were slight differences between Japanese’s and England’s. After the mini-game, we used our physical fitness very much, so we laid on the ground during the rest time. But it was very fun!

 PUNTING

Everyone went to Oxford for punting except who came to Radley for one or two week. First of all, l want to give some information about punting. A punt is a flat boat with a broad front, designed for use in small rivers or other shallow water. One person had to drive it with a pole.

That day everyone needed to make group for 5 people. If you want to drive it, you can but we didn't drive it because every boat had one stuff so they drove them. We traveled around the river. It was 20 minutes. I think it was fantastic. It was relaxing.

Music room in social
By: Joey

When I got back to the social I heard some music from the music room. I walked in to the music room, and saw someone was playing the piano. He played it very well. After he finish playing it all the people in the room were shocked. The music he played was amazing. I would like to learn something from him.

Radblog

So, we’ve already passed some days and they were full of great emotions, they were full of happiness. There was great excursion to Oxford, it helped us to communicate with new people, and we found some new things and we went shopping.
Next day we had our first classes. By the way, I was realy nervous about that. But in my opinion it was awesome, i even have nothing to compare with. I think you can’t even imagine my amazement.

That days was great. I hope all my vocations will be so.

Da Trip to Oxford and Da ChristChurch Church.

On Thursday, as the new arrivals were settling down, the students were taken to Oxford. A part of them went punting. These were the guys from week one. As for the rest of the school, they were taken to Christchurch. The staff brought in a new idea, which was represented by grouping the students by their animal teams. This was indeed a revolutionary idea that changed the way we perceive the world and the creation of the universe. The buses were very well balanced. The first two trips they were either too hot or too chilly. This time there was a slight breeze that
kept everyone from overheating, but wasn’t too hot either. Good shit.
As we got there, we were let off for 1 hour to go shopping. Some people complained that that wasn’t enough. Sadly, there was nothing that could be done since the schedule had to be strict to ensure enough time for Christ Church. Eventually it all seemed to work out correctly.
The significance of Christ Church is that the movie Harry Potter was filmed there. People of all ages want to go and witness the spiritual presence of Dumbledore. That’s all. We had a lot of fun in Burger Kings and McDonalds’s.

As for the behaviour of the kids, things were a little worse than last time. A couple of Italian guys got lost and the staff had to search for them. Thankfully, they had their lanyard with them, which they used to phone Gary and inform him of their location. In the end, it all worked out fine.

In conclusion, the trip was very good as far as comfort goes, but it was pretty boring. There was nothing much to see in Christchurch and the 1 hour shopping just wasn’t enough.
THE CUBE
By Can and Caroline

The cube is a cool game at Radley College. The two groups (yellow and blue) have to send students on to the stage. In some of the games you are blindfolded and you have to catch or throw a ball. In another game which is called Precision you have to flick a table tennis ball into a target. Memories is a game which tests your memory and you have to remember what you have seen on a picture. Our favourite game was Balance: A student who is blindfolded has to walk around the cube. Another cool game was called Multi-Sphere where two targets stand on a table and your task is it to take one ball from the one target to the other target, as usual yellows won the games.

ABOUT TOWER OF LONDON

The Tower of London is one of the world’s most famous fortresses and has seen service as royal palace, prison,  armory and even a zoo.

Constructed over 900 years ago by William the Conqueror, the Tower of London is steeped in a rich history. This fortress was expanded by many medieval kings and is a grand structure used by Royals through the years as a refuge and power base.

The Tower is still home to her majesty's Crown Jewels, on display for visitors to see, and the infamous Beefeaters tasked with the job of guarding them as well as showing visitors some of the attractions highlights.

The White Tower is the huge and beautiful stone building in the middle of the sight and is home to a variety of ever-changing exhibitions of historic and royal artifacts. Traitors Gate on outer walls by the river is infamously known as the entrance for traitors that had been sent to the Tower for execution. Look out for the Beefeaters who are on hand to tell the tales of some of the unlucky few who came through Traitors Gate.

Colour Challengers
By Koki Kikuchi

The Colour Challengers are funny games at Radley College.
We painted some animals on our faces; tigers, sharks, eagles, foxes, bears and lions.  After that, we stood and sang “We will rock you”. But its lyrics were completely changed. Our faces looked like Indians’.

Then, we went to the largest court and played. For example, kicking balls, standing on folded cloth many times , jumping above hurdle and kicking ball when BLINDFOLDED. It was a lot of fun!!

Multi – Activity-basketball

Multi – Activity-basketball
By: Joey

When we all arrived in the basketball court, we were dished into 4 groups to have a contest. Most of my teammates can’t play basketball very well and worse of all I forget to change my clothes. We lost the first game but after it, 2 teams who won the contest started their final game to find out who is the best. Most of my friends who play basketball very well were in the same team. Finally, the team with my friends in won. Overall it was a fantastic game.

Multi Activity – FOOTBALL

Football played by two teams of eleven players with around ball that may not be touched with the hands or arms during play except by the goalkeepers. The object of the game is to score goals by kicking or heading the ball into the opponents' goal. In the world usually men play football but from now on women play football very well like men. And also in Radley some girls play football with boys in the multi activity.

Radley Collage has huge green place so it is very good to play football. There are lot of ball and two goals in there. And also we can play football in sport centre. First of all activity leader make team for students and then everyone play football. Some activity leader sometimes became referee. I choose football for activity once a week. It is fun.
You should try to choose football for multi activity.

Colour War
by Anna
17.07.13

That day as usual we had an evening activity. And every Wednesday we have colour war invitation and line games. We are divided  into 2 teams: yellow and blue and play lots of exciting games. We compete to win the points for our color teams. Last Wednesday it was like a real fight! All of the games were unusual and original. For example there was a game which involved us holding hands through our legs in a line whilst running, or the game where we passed a woggle along a line of around ten people using our necks. So it was a great fun and yellow have won!

Da Bowling Trip at Da Krazy Klub.

By Michael and Rati

On Thursday, the second day of newcomers, kids from 15 to 17 were taken on a trip to a bowling alley called “Krazy Klub”. Everyone had a blast playing the game with their friends and enjoying the vast selection of food, as well as arcades and various machines. Throughout the trip, though, everyone had sad faces and numerous complaints could be heard, mostly about the temperature.

Getting to the place was a hassle. There were 3 coaches that were serving the children, but regretfully, they were quite displeasing. They were uncomfortable, stating that based on the high temperature inside the bus. Considering the scorching weather that day, it would only be fair to think that the buses would be hot too, but, it was actually hotter inside our coach than it was outside. This frustrated most of the chaps on the trip that day.

When we got to the place, though, the mood changed drastically. It was cool and chilly inside and everyone was served with a cold pint of Pepsi. We were all excited to play and check out the food that was offered. For nearly 2 hours we played bowling non-stop, as well as enjoyed the pool tables nearby. Finally, people got hungry from all the vigorous games and wanted to have a bite. No worries, there was a bar nearby, and it managed to flawlessly serve all the hungered.

While the unsuspecting teens were enjoying themselves, one of the guys actually managed to get a dazzling record of 191 points at the basketball machine, in which you got 40 seconds to throw 3 balls repeatedly. No one knows how he got such a score, but he sure was happy.

That's all good fun, but the teens are notorious for getting lost and causing a ruckus. How did they behave this time? Well, all the ALs were thankful and satisfied since everyone behaved perfectly. No one got lost, nobody delayed the timetable, and were actually helpful with organizing and registering each others' names with the leaders.

In conclusion, despite the uncomfortable ride, everyone ended up happy, satisfied and gleeful. They enjoyed the food, the cold drinks and the undeniable fun of a bowling range. Thank you Discovery Summer, keep it up.
Some random pictures from the trip!

Slacklining
It is a sport where you need very good balance. The slackline is fixed to two tighten belongings. The target is to get from point ‘’A’’ to point ‘’B’’.
Modern Dancing
For modern dancing you only need sporty cloth and trainers. Don’t take flip-flops or something like that.

Outdoor Pursiuts
It’s a kind of free-running in the forest. The target is to catch all colored flags.

Dodgeball
There are two teams and these teams have to shoot each other with a view balls. The team loses when there are any players left.

Kwik Cricket
It is a faster version of classical cricket. However, the game is used to introduce children to the game of cricket using plastic equipment.

HARLEM SHAKE IN Radley College
BY Arkady Lapshov
It was Ambre’s idea and she asked lot of people to do it.
At first we went to one classroom but it was small and we didn’t have a good camera to film it.
After that we were asked to leave that room and we moved into bigger one.
We’ve tried one time but it we haven’t got it.
Finally one student said that he had a special app on his IPoD for harlem shake.
And we’ve done it.
That was fantastic. Everyone were dancing , laughing and having fun.
There was someone dressed like a monkey.

So, I hope that doing the harlem shake will become a great tradition for Radley College.

CASINO NIGHT

BY ALEX ANGHEL

Yesterday every teen went to the Casino Night and most of them won some money.
At the beginning someone gave you 60 £ that could be played at Blackjack, Poker, Hi or Low, Bingo and lot of more things. Everyone had an elegant suit, like the casino suit and some of them were wearing sunglasses to have the poker face. Most of the people enjoyed the casino night because in the end was a big queue at 'high winnings'. The winner, Augustine, had 5000£ and he was rewarded by Radley.

Evening activities – Bon Fun
By: Joey, Jim
Date: Thursday, 18 July 2013

At the afternoon, we got to the lawn behind the lake to do our evening activities. There were lots of sports and games to play, such as soccer, Frisbee, rugby. It was hot there but everyone still felt happy when playing games. I joined the Frisbee game, the rule of that game was created by ourselves. We have a good time there.
